Strive to ...

Strive to...’ is an innovative project from Radio Forth's Cash for Kids and the Bauer Academy which equips young people with confidence, creativity, enterprise, digital and media skills and to create a positive online profile. This provides them with an opportunity to effectively market themselves differently and promote themselves positively to future employers.

The project uses media training as an engaging way to develop key employability skills and raise aspirations in disadvantaged/disengaged young people in Edinburgh, the Lothians and Fife.

4 x week long multimedia courses will run across the year.  Each week will cover radio, film, print, photography and digital skills.  At the end of the course each young person will have a ‘digital cv’ – an online webpage which showcases content that they’ve created throughout the course.  This gives them examples of work which can easily be shared with prospective employers.

This project is funded by the Big Lottery's Young Start Fund and is aimed at those age 16-18 who are most in need of the relevant employability skills to help with their transition to adulthood.

This opportunity is for any 16-18 year olds that are not in education, training or employment.

The next course starts a week on Monday (12th June) and there are a few spaces left which we are keen to fill so young people don't miss out on this great opportunity.  For information or to book a place, email hello@baueracademy.co.uk
