Science Insights

SCIENCE INSIGHTS Mon 24th – Fri 28th July 2017   Science Insights is an exciting work experience programme designed to give 5th year high school pupils a real insight into the work and life of research scientists.   The annual programme – launched in 2014 by the MRC Institute of Genetics & Molecular Medicine and The Roslin Institute – has proved a great success. The five research institutes in the College of Medicine and Veterinary Medicine at   The University of Edinburgh   have pa rticipated from 2016, enabling an increased number of places for pupils on the programme.   This year's programme will provide an opportunity for 40 high school pupils to spend a week of their summer holidays following a varied programme of activities on four different University of Edinburgh campuses, gaining a real insight into research and work in   # biologicalsciences ,   # medicine   and # veterinarymedicine .     Activities include: Shadowing researchers in the workplace Tours of

ICAS Foundation – Making a Difference Bursaries of up to £10,000 payable over 4 years available ICAS Foundation is a charity and we have bursary funding to award this year. To date we have awarded £722,000 in bursary funding. The ICAS Foundation is a body that has been established by ICAS (Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland) to make a significant difference to academically talented young people from disadvantaged communities by helping them take their first steps into a professional career in accountancy or finance. As you will know, younger people from disadvantaged communities are under-represented at universities across Scotland and, in particular, on courses that lead to a life-long profession. ICAS, as one of the leading professional accountancy bodies in the world, believes that it can do more to open up access to the accountancy profession and has helped establish the Foundation to help do just that. UCL Access to Justice Summer School

We are offering a free residential summer school to students from widening participation backgrounds from Monday 31 st July - Friday 4 th August (students will depart on the morning of the 5 th ). UCL will cover the costs of travel, meals, and five nights of accommodation at Ramsay Hall, a UCL Hall of Residence.
