ACT Academy - Hairdressing & Beauty Therapy




ACT Academy is a private training provider in Edinburgh who have vacancies for Apprentice Hairdressers within Edinburgh, Lothians and Fife

They also have a new state of the arts Academy and offer HNC/D in Beauty Therapy or Make-up Artistry.  They are approved by SQA and our courses are eligible for SAAS funding.

Anyone interested in Beauty or Make-up should contact ACT directly or come along to the open day on Monday 29th May from 12-7pm at the Academy (no appointment necessary).


HNC Beauty Therapy

The HNC course is designed as a pre cursor to the HND programme.   The course will encompass a wide range of Beauty Therapy treatments to prepare candidates wishing to pursue a successful career in the Beauty Industry.

Each subject will cover the related Anatomy & Physiology as well as Health & Safety, Consultation, Homecare and Aftercare advice for each treatment, treatment planning preparation for treatments.

All students will experience running their own column of regular clients which will increase proficiency in all aspects of the day to day running of a salon.  This encompasses all aspects of the training course and prepares the candidate for life in the industry.  Additional opportunities will be offered to obtain certification with Matis Paris in both their Professional Skin Care range and Matispa their Body range.

Certificate gained:                         SQA Higher National Certificate 

Cost:                                               £2000 (SAAS funding of £1285 may be available)
