This is an opportunity that may be of interest to students who are 16 and over and are looking to working and gaining a career in the music industry. On the 10th of April, we will be running a free week intensive course called Introduction to Employability in the Music Industry (Music Management).
The aim of the course is to help candidates develop their understanding of the requirements of the workplace, focusing on the challenges and requirements of working in this fast-paced environment. In addition, participants will be given a broad overview of what it means to be an artist manager in the music industry. Following an interview on the final day of the course, successful candidates will have the opportunity to take up a 1 week work experience with Post Electric Studio.
The one-week program offers applicants the opportunity to learn how to demonstrate their commitment, skills and motivation to prospective employers in the music industry. Those who successfully complete this short program will be awarded a SQA level 4 employability award and a level 6 Music Management module. You will also develop essential skills to help you gain employment in any area, including developing your confidence, communication skills and CV.
We are also offering another week intensive short course in Sound Production w/c the 10th of April. During this course they will work towards achieving a BTEC Level 3 Award in Sound Production. This program will give them hands on experience with Logic Pro X, microphones, midi recording and a host of other useful skills and knowledge that will help them in home recording or set them up for further study in Sound Production.
On successful completion, you will be awarded a BTEC Level 3 Award in Sound Production to evidence your new-found recording abilities and throughout the whole process you will receive guidance and support from one of AMS’s specialist trainers.
There will also be 4 separate courses starting in June on the following dates and will run for 6 sessions, with 1 session each week on your chosen day.

Tuesday 13th of June
Wednesday 14th of June
Thursday 15th of June
