Academy of Music & Sound
This is an opportunity that may be of interest to students who are 16 and over and
are looking to working and gaining a career in the music industry. On the 10th
of April, we will be running a free week intensive course called
Introduction to Employability in the Music Industry (Music Management).
The aim of the course is to help
candidates develop their understanding of the requirements of the workplace,
focusing on the challenges and requirements of working in this fast-paced
environment. In
addition, participants will be given a broad overview of what it means to be an
artist manager in the music industry. Following an interview on the final
day of the course, successful candidates will have the opportunity to take up a
1 week work experience with Post Electric Studio.
The one-week program offers
applicants the opportunity to learn how to demonstrate their commitment, skills
and motivation to prospective employers in the music industry. Those who
successfully complete this short program will be awarded a SQA level 4
employability award and a level 6 Music Management module. You will also
develop essential skills to help you gain employment in any area, including
developing your confidence, communication skills and CV.
We are also offering another week
intensive short course in Sound Production w/c the 10th of April. During this course they will work
towards achieving a BTEC Level 3 Award in Sound Production. This program
will give them hands on experience with Logic Pro X, microphones, midi

On successful completion, you will
